The Tark is the code name for a
Free Software project targeted at the creation of a free (libre),
visual Text Authoring and Management environment for
- HTML, SGML, and XML Editing/ Authoring,
- Web Site and Document Management, and
- Web Link Management
The Tark might basically become somewhat of a
clone of Microsoft's FrontPage,
SoftQuad's/ Corel's HoTMetaL/ XMetaL, or Adobe's GoLive!,
crossed with concepts of Adobe's FrameMaker and LyX/ Klyx/
TeXMacs, Conglomerate, and several server-based CMS.
The main platform will be
GNU/Linux,
it'll most probably run under the desktop environment GNOME 2.
