Übersicht
QuiteInsane ist ein graphisches Frontend für
SANE ("Scanner Access Now
Easy") und JOCR. Es basiert
auf Qt-2.2.x und ist in C++ geschrieben.
Aus der Selbstdarstellung:
»The intention behind SANE is to provide a standard application
programming interface to access raster scanner hardware.
In theory, a graphical frontend like QuiteInsane should work with
every hardware supported by SANE.
In practice, QuiteInsane is in alpha state. That means, that you
shouldn't expect to get a fully functional and rock stable
application, which works flawlessly with your scanner; it's more
likely that you run into problems.
Furthermore, QuiteInsane is designed for usage with scanners
(flatbed/hand-held). It has never been tested with other devices

Features
- an image viewer, featuring:
- image filters (blur, Gaussian blur, rotate, sharpen,
oilpainting, shear, scale, convert and despeckle);
- ability to select part of the image;
- saving all or a selected part of an image; and
- running the OCR program on all or a selected part of an
image;
- a history/image browser;
- a preview window, featuring:
- a PNM 7 image reader/writer;
- adjustment of the preview images' resolution based on the
window size;
- a zoom function with undo/redo; and
- a "multi-selection mode" for selecting up to 20 regions and
scanning all selected regions in a single pass;
- non-blocking I/O; and
- drag'n'drop of images.
