Übersicht
K3b is CD-writing software which intends to be feature-rich and
provide an easily useable interface for the command line programs
cdrecord/mkisofs and cdrdao.
Features
- a very user-friendly interface;
- a Setup Wizard to handle setting proper permissions and
otherwise preparing the system for CD writing;
- burning audio CDs from .MP3, Ogg Vorbis and .WAV digital audio
files, featuring:
- support for burning images or on-the-fly;
- support for CD-text (automatically filled in from .MP3 IDv3
tags); and
- support for ID3 tags;
- burning data CDs (ISO9660), featuring:
- support for Joliet / Rockridge extensions;
- multiple sessions;
- burning images;
- writing on-the-fly;
- creating a file tree using drag'n'drop;
- removing files or directories from the file tree;
- creating empty directories in the file tree;
- automatic (based on MP3 tags) or manual file renaming (for
Joliet/Rockbridge); and
- support for most mkisofs options;
- ripping CDs to .WAV, with
CDDB
support (http, cddbp and local cddb directory) and a sophisticated
pattern system to automatically organize the ripped tracks;
- ripping DVDs (preliminary support);
- writing existing ISO-images to CD;
- CD copy (data, audio and mixed mode);
- blanking of CDRWs;
- medium detection and information display, featuring:
- for audio CDs, a track view for audio ripping;
- for data CDs, auto-mounting and a directory listing;
- for mixed-mode CDs, the option to choose a track view or
mount the CD;
- for DVDs, the DVD ripping dialog; and
- for empty CDs, all available information about the medium;
- enhanced CD device handling, including:
- auto-detection of maximum read/write speeds;
- auto-detection of
BURN-PROOF support; and
- verification that an empty disk has been inserted;
- CD info and TOC retrieval;
- support for ATAPI drives without SCSI-emulation for
burning/ripping; and
- a fully integrated, full-featured audio player for listening to
audio files while writing.
