Aus der Selbstdarstellung:
»BOND is a powerful rapid application development 5th
generation language for creating data aware database applications.
It's purpose is to minimize the need for coding and maximise
platform independence; this tool can dramatically reduce software
development life cycles.
BOND is not an IDE, or yet another 4th generation RAD clone
for Linux, but a powerful collection of libraries that simplify the
task of creating professional database software applications.
Traditionally you would define your datasources for widgets
when you drag and drop them on your forms. This was easy until you
started to develop large complex applications with difficult user
interface rules. Bond attempts to remove these problems by handling
all the datasources itself and working out the user interface rules.
Bond makes your widgets data aware without you needing to code them.
Our broad aim is to make this library able to build complex
database applications dynamics from a standard set of design
documents. BOND will offer you complete control over your project by
allowing you to insert your own code into the application, and it
will be non- platform-specific, so your application can be deployed
for any desktop, such as Linux, Unix, MacOS, or Windows, or even
exported to the web with HTML forms« (Quelle:
