Übersicht
Sylpheed ist ein GTK+ basierter, leichtgewichtiger und schneller
E-Mail- Client und Newsreader für GNU/Linux.
Zu den primären Zielen der Entwickler gehören:

Bedienung und Interface sind an beliebte E-Mail- Clients unter
Windows angelehnt wie Outlook Express, Becky! oder Datula, ausserdem
sind nahezu alle Kommandos über die Tastatur erreichbar.
Zur Verwaltung der Nachrichten wird das MH-Format verwendet, wie
beispielsweise auch in Mew; Sylpheed kann daher gemeinsam mit anderen
MH-basierten Mailern geutzt werden. Selbstverständlich ist auch eine
Kombination mit Fetchmail und Procmail sowie Inc
oder Imget möglich.
