Matt J. Gumbley: The Linux NCP-Link Project,
www.gumbley.demon.co.uk/ncp.html.
Psion palmtop computers typically communicate with a PC (or
Mac) using Psion's PsiWin (PsiMac) product. (Or RCOM, or MCLINK).
These products provide three communications protocols running over
the serial link:
- a logical link protocol,
- a data transport and multiplexing protocol and
- a file server protocol.
PsiWin also provides application-specific data-convertors.
There is no corresponding product for Linux. Products exist which
require specialised daemons running on the Psion, but none utilise
the built in protocols. This project attempts to provide Linux
support for the three built-in protocols (so you can see your Linux
system from your Psion), and a Linux filesystem driver for the
remote file server protocol (So you can mount the Psion's file
systems on your Linux system). Of course, with Linux being available
on more than one architecture, this software will run anywhere you
have Linux. It has been tested on Intel and Sparc Linux, and can be
ported easily to any UNIX.
Matt J. Gumbley: plptools - Matt's work on User-Space
UNIX-Psion tools,
www.gumbley.demon.co.uk/plptools.html.
I started writing a Linux-based User-Space PLP/NCP/RFSV
stack, and also started investigating a kernel-based implementation.
While working on this, Philip Proudman beat me to a working
implementation (plp), which Fritz Elfert improved by merging with
Rudolf Koenig's p3nfs/p5nfs, to produce plptools.
Matt J. Gumbley: ncoscope - Linux-based PLP/NCP/RFSV
Protocol Analyser,
www.gumbley.demon.co.uk/ncpscope.html.
Ncpscope is a simple Linux program that interprets the
output of scope, my serial line analyser, as connected to monitor
the conversation between a Psion Series 3/5 and a PC running
PsiWin/rcom/mclink/slink, etc. This page tells you how to obtain
ncpscope and how to build it, install it, and build the cable.

PsiLinux,
www.psilinux.org.
PsiLinux is a project to port the unix-like operating
system Linux to a group of palmtops produced by Psion, and related
machines such as the Geofox One. At present, working linux systems
can be installed on any of the Series 5, Series 5MX, Series 5MX-Pro,
Revo (Revo+, Mako) machines. Linux on the Series 7 has worked in
some cases, but Linux on the netBook is still problematic.

A package for Linux on a Psion 5MX,

These are a set of notes on installing my homegrown linux
filesystem for a Psion 5MX handheld computer (16 MB of RAM, 64 MB
compactflash disk).
The PsiLinux Project: Linux on the Psion 5MX/5MX-PRO HOWTO,
Last modified 9 February 2003,
linux-7110.sourceforge.net/.../series5mx/5MXHOWTO.htm.
This document contains brief instructions on how to get a
Psion 5MX or 5MX PRO to boot into the Linux operating system and
subsequent system configuration issues. This document is fairly new
and will probably continue to undergo revisions.

Debian GNU/Linux: Packages/ARM Binary Version,
wendy.djo.tudelft.nl/~dushaw/index.html.
This is a webpage set up to allow browsing of Debian Linux
"Woody" packages, and downloading of ARM binaries of those packages.
It is a modified version of the same webpage found at
www.debian.org; it is basically kludged... As you browse through it
you will find references to i386 here and there, but never you mind.
When you go to download things you will get the arm binaries, which
is the entire purpose of this webpage.
Linux Magazin: "Das Zweithirn: Datenaustausch zwischen
PSION 5mx PRO und Linux", von Robert Gehring, Ausgabe 06/2000,
www.linux-magazin.de/Artikel/ausgabe/2000/06/Psion/psion.html.
Mit freier Software ist es möglich, aus PSION-Organizer und
Linux-PC ein produktives Gespann zu bilden. Noch ist die
Unterstützung für den PSION, verglichen z.B. mit dem PalmPilot, auf
Linux-Seite recht rudimentär, insbesondere was die
Datenkonvertierung betrifft.
Scherflein beizutragen. Vielleicht hört ja sogar das PSION-
Marketing von den Anstrengungen und wird kooperativ... PSIONs
Umsätzen und Image dürfte das nicht schaden. [...]
