Übersicht

Desktop ROCK (dRock) Linux basiert auf der Distribution Rock Linux und ist optimiert auf die Verwendung auf dem Desktop.

Aus der Selbstdarstellung:

»Desktop ROCK Linux startet as a personal project of Valentin and me (René) to create a CD that contains all the packages we had to recompile for each ROCK Linux installation. Desktop ROCK Linux now contains additional Desktop packages like the K Desktop environment, Mozilla, XEmacs, audio and video tools and hardware video and 3D acceleration. dRock has server features like the web-server Apache, the web-cache Squid, the advanced Networking Filesystem CODA (incl. disconnected mode for Laptop use ;-) and the SMB-Server Samba, too.

Our goal is NOT to create a self-installing and graphical installation, but to create a distribution which can be used - by administrators - to create an environment for normal users that contains all the needed desktop and office applications. That -like an microwave or TV- simply works, everyday«.
