GNUCOMM,
www.gnu.org/software/gnucomm/gnucomm.html.
Telephony equipment is currently reliant on proprietary hardware and
software to power everything from PBX's, voicemail systems,
softphones, and gateways to large call-centers and carrier
infrastructures. GNUComm will offer a replacement for this
proprietary software and integrate the functionality of these common
applications into a more flexible and broadly functional free system
running on commodity hardware. Along the way, GNUComm will provide a
number of applications and software components useful to other free
software projects.
Voxilla.org,
voxilla.org.
The broad goal of voxilla.org is to host a complete set of
telecommunications modules for use with the GNU/Linux operating
system. To that end, voxilla.org tracks, archives, documents, and
develops such software. At the time of this writing, voxilla
primarily functions as an archive, but several developers use it for
other resources. The minimum goals set for voxilla are to have a
complete archive, and to be responsive to developers who need to
host software. Much of the original development focus has shifted to
the Gnucomm project.
OpenPhone.org,
www.openphone.org.
We are dedicated to the development of high-quality, low-density
internet telephony solutions for as many computer platforms as
possible.
We aim to develop software on "low density" telephony equipment that
is both more affordable, and more applicable, for many developers
and users. Most telephony development is done for high-end systems
using high-density (T1 or bigger) components... or it's strictly
Voice over IP (VoIP) using sound cards and a microphone and speaker.
There has long been a a gap between the expensive high-end options
and the ultra-low-end using sound cards. This site exists to
eliminate that gap! After all, how many people do you know have a T1
line? How many have a simple, inexpensive analog phone and computer?
That's our point!
Quicknet Technologies, Inc.: LinuxTelephony,
